Hey Girl

I have to admit I'm not a big fan of design trends. An accent here or there is good but I like to live and design with choices that have some long term flexibility. That being said, I will now contradict myself and talk about a weekend project that could fall into the category of a trend. Yep, chalkboard paint...

...but I was also influenced by this.
Maybe I was influenced by this...
My rationale is that you can change the artwork easily when you want something new (and Ryan Gosling thinks it's a good idea). The dining room in my house is part of the original 1866 blueprint and therefore very narrow and small. I wanted to do something to make it feel fun and cozy for the upcoming winter so I thought I'd give this idea a try:

Thanks to the amazing talents of Ryann Rase I now have my woodland winter scene for the holiday season! I just hope Mr. Gosling approves...

If you would like your own custom chalkboard art contact Ryann Rase via email at ryann.rase@hotmail.com. She is amazing!

Happy holiday season and see you at our open house this Saturday!

~Susan
